Chequers Manor - Extension, Alteration and Refurbishment

Collfin Limited secured this contract following a competitive tendering process.

The works comprised structural alterations to alter the existing Ground and First Floor Layouts, Single Storey Side Extension to create a Boot Room, Formation of Secondary Access to Basement via an External Lightwell and Staircase, Stonework Repairs, Basement Tanking, Sound Proofing, Commercial Level Plumbing & Heating System, New Oak Staircase together with a High-Specification Refurbishment throughout and a BOFFI Kitchen.

One of the main challenges presented by this project was the necessity to undertake substantial rectification works to the existing structure. The scope and scale of these works only became apparent once the existing finishes were removed and were addressed in conjunction with the project structural Engineer in a timely fashion so as to maintain the overall construction programme.

The specification of the internal finishes was undertaken by our Clients and where appropriate we proposed various products and suppliers to assist in this process.

During the currency of the project decision-making, product selection and liaison were undertaken via e mail as well as during regular site meetings. The successful completion of the project was in no small part due to the spirit of co-operation and teamwork that existed between our Clients, our Office and Site Team.
